A couple weeks after extending WR Drake London, Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham has wasted no time locking up another one of Atlanta’s pass catchers.
Tuesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed the Falcons have signed TE Kyle Pitts to a 3-year, $54 million deal. The new contract gives Pitts the highest 3-year deal for a tight end in NFL history, which includes $36 million guaranteed.
Additionally, Pitts will now average $18 million per year which ranks third in the NFL behind George Kittle and Trey McBride.
Pitts was drafted number four overall in 2021 as the highest drafted tight end in NFL history. In his rookie year he crossed 1,000 yards receiving with, then quarterback, Matt Ryan. Since then there’s been some inconsistencies though. The 25-year old has not crossed 1,000 yards since then but came just a few yards short in 2025.
This past season marked his career best from a touchdown and catch total. Previously, Pitts had signed the franchise tag — this new deal negates that as he is signed through the next few years.
