In 2025 it took until June 14 for the Atlanta Braves to earn their 30th win.
One year later, they earned their 30th win an entire month earlier May 14 in a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs en route to winning yet another series while boasting the best record in Major League Baseball.
Wednesday night it was two newcomers earning hero honors with Mike Yastrzemski and Mauricio Dubón with the game changing doubles and home runs as Atlanta improved their division lead over the Washington Nationals to nine games.
The last time the Braves got to 30 wins this quickly was 2003. First-year manager Walt Weiss has made his mark quickly in Atlanta taking over for Brian Snitker, “I’m so engrossed with the day-to-day,” he said. “You want to attack each day the best you can, and these guys are doing that. They confront every challenge that comes our way.”
The Braves will go for the sweep over Chicago tonight at 7:15 before starting another series at home against the Boston Red Sox.
