Bleacher Report recently released its list of the top 100 quarterbacks in NFL history, and only two passers from the Atlanta Falcons made the cut. Matt Ryan came in at No. 41, recognized for his consistency, longevity, and MVP-winning 2016 campaign that helped guide Atlanta to a Super Bowl appearance. Close behind was Michael Vick at No. 52, celebrated for revolutionizing the position with his dynamic dual-threat ability and electrifying playmaking during his time in Atlanta.
Notably absent from the rankings though was Steve Bartkowski, a former No. 1 overall pick who starred for the Falcons in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Bartkowski was a two-time Pro Bowler and once held several franchise passing records, making his omission a point of debate among longtime fans. While Ryan and Vick represent two of the most impactful eras in team history, the exclusion of Bartkowski underscores just how competitive and subjective all-time quarterback rankings can be.
