Acuna, Kim begin rehab assignments with the Gwinnett Stripers

It appears the Braves might be getting back two key pieces in their offense sooner rather than later.

Friday morning, Atlanta announced that Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ha-Seong Kim would begin their rehab assignments with the Gwinnett Stripers. They will begin those assignments this weekend when the team plays in Toledo.

Acuna and Kim raised some eyebrows with their short stints with the FCL Braves as both homered in their appearances — with Kim homering in his first at bat, while Acuna hit a grand slam Thursday afternoon.

It’s been about five weeks since Ronald Acuna Jr. last appeared in a game for Atlanta as he’s been recovering from a left hamstring strain June 9. It was the same hamstring that he had previously aggravated earlier in the season.

Meanwhile Ha-Seong Kim has been out of the Braves lineup for about two weeks. He was placed on the 10-day injured list July 4 with right middle finger inflammation. It’s been a tough 2026 for the Braves shortstop as he currently has a woeful .068 batting average and zero home runs. He signed a one-year, $20 million contract earlier this offseason.
